I first made a teddy bear in 1985 from a pattern by Doris King. For the next seven years, I made bears from the same pattern, then took the leap into designing my own patterns. The next two - three years, I attended workshops and conventions to improve my design and construction skills. In the spring of 1995, I exhibited at my first bear show. I love to see the bears come alive in my studio. I enjoy the challenge of pushing myself to create bears I never dreamed I could do and to finding my own style of bear. Although I use only a few patterns, most of the bears I currently make are uniquely finished and accessorized. Only a few bears are still made in limited or open editions.
